Description
Letters to and from RAH and Leslyn from various family and friends, mostly personal.  Most are pre-war, but a couple are post-Dec. 7.

Includes correspondence roughly in alphabetical order N-V. Alden Norton of Fictioneers, Inc. magazine, Frederik Pohl (talks about the “drastic editing” done to the published version of Lost Legacy, F. M. Pottenger of the Pottenger Sanatorium and Clinic (encouraging Leslyn’s weight gain, but otherwise seems mostly personal, includes RAH editing a book by Pottenger),  an interesting letter from May 1941 in which RAH is trying to buy a Laurel Canyon lot for $200. Virginia Perdue letters about the start of the war and RAH saying he wishes he’d have enlisted before Pearl Harbor day as war was inevitable. E. E. Doc Smith (talks about the idea of doing a collaboration with RAH in one letter), Julius Schwartz, a rejection letter for “For Us, the Living” from William Sloan of Henry Holt & Co., publishers, Jerry Voorhis.
